Director Jacob Verghese's Kannada movie Prithvi is a satire on current political system of Karnataka. The movie revolves around mine lords' corruption in Bellary district. The movie also shows how the people of the district are suffering from lack of infrastructures like drinking water, health care and other environmental pollutions due to mining lobby.
HD Deve Gowda has been a staunch hater of Reddy Brothers and has been raising his voice against their tyranny in Bellary district ever since the BJP government has come into power in Karnataka. He is even said to have teamed up with like-minded parties to raise the issue of Reddy brothers' illegal mining under rule 39(3) during the ongoing Parliament session.
Now, the Gandhinagar experts think that the subject of Jacob Verghese's film Prithvi seems to have boosted the JD(S) supremo's views on the mining magnates of Bellary district. HD Deve Gowda is said to have found enough support in the movie to revive his campaign against such a daylight looting of natural resources by the mining mafia.
However, HD Deve Gowda has decided to watch the movie Prithvi after hearing about the reviews of the film. It is said that the former Prime Minister will be watching the film at a mini-theatre in Bangalore on the Labour Day on May 01 Saturday.
It remains to be seen how would HDD react to the movie. Several Puneet fans are curious to his response for it. Will the former Prime Minister use this movie as a powerful weapon to bomb at Reddy Brothers? Comment.
