Kannada theatre artiste Arundhati Nag, wife of late actor Shankar Nag, has got the Best Supporting Actress award at the Nokia 16th annual Star Screen Awards 2010 for her performance in Bollywood movie Paa, which features Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishekh Bachchan and Vidya Balan in leads.

Arundhati Nag (Paa), Divya Dutt (Delhi 6), Gauhar Khan (Rocket Singh), Neha Dhupia (Raat Gayi Baat Gayi) and Shahana Goswami (Firaaq) were nominated for the category of Best Supporting Actress. Finally, Arundhati got selected for the honour for her excellent performance as Bum in Paa. After receiving the award, Arundathi said, "This is my first film award function because I'm basically from theatre industry. I thank Mr. Balki, Amitabhji and all the team members of Paa for getting me this honour.

The senior Kannada theatre artiste has already got rave reviews from critics for her performance in the movie Paa. Now the recognition as the Best Supporting Actress is a great honour to Arundhati Nag. However, she has played Vidya Balan"s mother and grandmom of Auro"s (Amitabh Bachchan) in the film. Her confident act as granny Bum is very heart-touching and the scenes between the 'nani-pota' are very real.

Hats off to Arundhati madam for making Kannadigas proud!
