Actress-turned-politician Shruthi is all set to marry the 'Lankesh' reporter Chakravarthy. Recently, she had made a news after she applied for divorce from hubby director S Mahendar in the city family court. In an interview to TV9, she made it clear that she would soon marry Chakravarthy.

She said, "I'm 33 years old and I will live for another 30 years. I want to spend those 30 years peacefully and in an useful way. I have to think about my daughter's future also and I will never let her go with Mahendar. He is a good friend but is not a good husband at all."

“This is not today's decision. I have been trying to correct this family affair for the past eight years. When I didn't get any response from him I have decided to get divorced from him. I know Chakravarthy from long. Money is not only reason for the divorce," she added.

According to her, she did not have any intention to join politics, but she was forced to join politics by Mahendar. First, she campaigned for the Congress party and later she joined the BJP. She further said, "So far, I have played a defeated woman in on-screen as well as off-screen life. Now, I want to change this in future. This is my personal affair and nothing related to any party. I hope the BJP will not interfere in this affair. This is not my political life."

"I am an actress in film industry. Let the audience talk about my filmy life not about my personal affair. I have mentioned all the reason in the divorce plea that I have submitted to the court. I don't think I need to reveal all the reasons to the public because there are certain reasons, which I can't reveal to the public."

“The relationship between me and Mahendar has been spoiled so much that we can never lead a life together again. Although nobody in my family support me in this affair, I don't take back from this decision. I have stood by Mahendar in all his difficulties. Now I am fed up with it," she added.
