CR Simha's son Ritwik Simha has attempted to do a biopic, which is a rare genre in Kannada film industry. Theatre artiste Ritwik Simha"s biopic is his debut directorial venture and it is based on poet Kuvempu, which is titled Rasarishi Kuvempu. His father CR Simha has played the lead role in the film.

According to Ritwik Simha, this film showcases the life of the poet, chronicling all its major events and aspects. The presentation will be a blend of the commercial and the art format. Arvind Prakash is producing the film. However, the film crew has got the opportunity to use Kuvempu"s own house for shooting purpose.

Ritwik says that he has done a lot of research to make the movie more authentic. CR Simha, who plays lead role in the movie, has used Kuvempu's writing desk, pen and clothes. Actress Padmaja wore Mrs Kuvempu"s saree. Even Kuvempu"s car was being used for the shooting.

V Manohar has scored the music for the film. The songs are the highlight because they have been sung by 'Jai Ho' fame Vijay Prakash, Upendra, RK Padmanabhan. Nirupama and Rajendra have choreographed a song in the film.
