Amidst the mixed response from the media, Puneet Rajkumar-Priyanka Kothari starrer Raaj - The Showman has been successful up to a certain extent in posing a tough competition for Telugu movie Magadheera. Earlier, director Vijayalakshmi Singh's Male Barali Manju Irali got good response from the media, but failed to face the challenge of Magadheera. Distributor Jayanna says, "According to the Box Office reports, Raaj - The Showman has earned Rs. 5.5 crore so far. In the last week, the movie has seen 19 shows in Multiplexes, which is a record in the Kannada film industry. It has got good response through out the state."

“Movie Magadheera has been made with a budget of Rs. 40 cr. If I was given with that much of amount, I would have shot the whole movie in aeroplane. The camera work, shooting and locations of the movie are nothing less to a Bollywood movie," say director Prem.

Meanwhile, Jaggesh starrer Eddelu Manjunatha is also not affected by the release of Magadheera in Karnataka. The movie has already completed 25 days and is still running houseful towards 50 days. But Muniya, which was released on the same date of Magadheera, has failed to face the force.

mr prem if you are a good director then why proffessiona producers are not coming towards you to pay 40 crores to take good movie like MAGADHEERA

i have never seen any telugu or tamil director talking about kannada movies...And also they never talk about other directors films... lack of creativity and culture is lacking in this industry.. so they should try improving on those rather than shooting a film in aeroplane
