K Manju's unique Press Meet
Producer K. Manju met the media on Saturday as part of a unique programme 'Amrutha Mathu Manthana' organized by the Kannada film journalists fraternity. The programme is conducted on the occasion of 'Amrutha Mahotsava' to give journalists a chance to meet film personalities. It was indeed a jolly time at the meet with Manju speaking openly and giving wonderful observations about his life and films.

A family-oriented man, Manju lives with his mother, brother, sister-in-law, wife and two children in his Jayanagar residence. He told the story of his life and how he became a producer. He recollected his poverty-ridden childhood and how he used to study under the street lamps or kerosene lamps. He frankly admitted that he could not pass the SSLC in the first attempt. Manju, popularly known as Kobri Manju, got that nickname because he used to sell coconuts at one point in his life. He had to work at night as an auto driver to earn his college fees. Later, he started an automobile shop and then realized he should be doing business.

Manju started his film career with Anuraga Spandana in 1997. So far, he has produced 23 films. He is currently involved in the production of 4 films Yogi and Olave Jeena Lekkachara are on the floors while Rajakumari is ready for release. He is also producing the 199th film of Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Nane Bere Nan Style Bere.
