Today is 'good Friday' for Kannada films

It is not an exaggeration to say that there are Kannada audience, who do not feel comfortable, if they do not watch one new Kannada film every week. For there surprise, four Kannada movies are releasing today. Here is a brief note of the movies for those anxious audiences, who spend Rs 30-50 on film ticket, Rs 18 on bus fare, Rs 16 on chats and Rs 6 for Coffee.

1 Kempa: Karnataka Police and BSF had attacked Gopinatham in Tamil Nadu, when they started operation to catch Veerappan. It was heard that these men had ill treated the public there. An investigation on the atrocity was also held. Now the movie Kempa captures the same historical event and tries to bring it on the screen. It is said that Karnataka Censor Board was afraid at first to give any certificate to the movie. At last, the movie is out today with 'UA' certificate.

2 Anu: Kannada Movie Anu is a remake of Telugu super hit movie Anasuya. The movie deals with medical students and their crime world. It depicts love and crime moving side by side. It is a heroine oriented movie. Bhumika had played the heroine in the original.

Ravi Babu's Anasuya earns 6.75

Ravi Babu made a good start with Allari. But after that all his films like Ammayilu Abbayilu, Soggadu and Party bombed at the Box Office. Ravi Babu however made up for all this with a decent hit with his latest film Anasuya. He had cast Kamalini Mukherjee in the lead but later had to replace her with Bhoomika due to date problems. It actually turned into a blessing in disguise as Bhoomika's action was one of the highlights of the film......

Genelia in Maa Attayya Deyyam

Genelia Starrer Mr Medhavi is all set to hit the theatres on the Republic Day. Genelia will play a prominent role in the film titled Maa Attayya Deyyam. Radhika has been roped to play the role of mother-in-law to Genelia. Genelia is now basking in the success of Bommarillu and Dhee. Ravi Babu, who is now happy with the success of his film Anasuya, is going to direct the film. His offbeat film Anasuya was received well by the audience......
