NRI director files case against Diganth

NRI director Priya Bharathi has filed a case against Kannada actor Diganth at Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and she has requested to take strict action against him. Priya Bharathi has blamed that Diganth has delayed her movie E Preeti for a year by not attending the shooting.

Diganth had signed to star in E Preeti a year agor. Now, he is delaying the shooting of the movie with the pretext of unavailability of dates. The movie was to be shot in US for two weeks for which she had booked an air ticket. But she had to cancel the ticket, because he did not attend the shooting at the right time.

Priya Bharathi has been struggling to take Diganth to Us for shooting for a year. Now she has come to Bangalore. The movie E Preeti was to be shot for two weeks in February 2009. But he is delaying the shooting of the movie with pretexts, she has stated in her complaint.

Although Diganth has promised now to come to US on July 14, Priya Bharathi strongly believes that this time also, he will skip his US tour. His mobile phone is switched off and he is not available for talk to confirm the issue.

However, Priya Bharathi is a very familiar face in Kannada film industry. Earlier, she has directed a movie called Guttu for small screen in 2001. Another speciality of Priya is that she was one, who introduced today"s Golden star Ganesh to film industry.

Dear Mr. Shekhar H Hooli (author of this article), this is Priya, director of e-Preeti. I am greatly surprised to see this article online, and I think news like this may have been what created such a HUGE misunderstanding between me and my co-producers in e-Preeti. For your information, I NEVER filed a complaint at KFCC against Diganth. You can verify this by checking at the KFCC. In fact, at the time you wrote this article (July 4, 2009), I had newly arrived in Bengaluru and was attempting to organize an indoor song shooting. I also traveled to Chennai to do a color correction test at Prasad Labs. Imagine my surprise when, upon my return, the news had spread everywhere that I had filed a case against Diganth, and that the other producers were angry with me because of it. The truth is, I had not even entered the KFCC building, or even spoken to any KFCC official! I have no idea where you got this information from. And I wonder why you did not verify it with me before printing it on such a major website. I'm sorry, but this is EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE journalism. It is very easy to reach me in Bengaluru. I have distributed my phone number and e-mail address to dozens of journalists. I check e-mail regularly. You should NOT have printed such a serious allegation without first verifying if it is, in fact, the truth. Due to this false report, both Diganth and my fellow producers got wrong information about what was happening, and set off a vicious media war which is still raging. I urge you to be more professional and responsible in your approach to journalism in the future.

Looks like all the producers have backed out & the director is out of funds...so she has come up with another story to back up the delay of shooting...blaming it on diganth once again...Grow up Ms. director....and put your time in finding funds instead of blaming everybody you are suppose to work with.it is not good for the quality of the movie...this nonsense you have created will not get the best out of the artists. An artist needs to feel motivated not regret the fact he is acting in your damn movie.PUT YOUR ENERGY TOWARDS SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE. BEST OF LUCK!!!

Diganth is acting in soo many movies ...this is the first time a director is pointing a finger at him....so seriously something is wrong with the director... as even the producers are against her...i think she has gone mad....people like her who make false accusations and USE MEDIA should be severely punished...in this case banned from KFCA AND SENT TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL.

The whole team is against the director...so something has to be wrong with her not the producers and the diganth...looks like the director is simply blaming diganth...and guttu was not such a great movie its didnt do well at all.

looks like the producers were not doing their job and keeping track of what was going on. now they are blaming the director... conflicts arise from problems on all sides and I think everyone looks bad. no one can escape that..

who cares if she is in us or any country. if the actor leaves the shoot how can the director shoot the movie. diganth is acting in many other movies now. the producer hosemane also made complaints about the actor switching off his phone... how can a director direct without an actor?

I have gone through the comments made by the director Priya bharathi. It was really shocking news for me First and foremost thng I want to know who has done the casting of the movie? It must be the director,was she not aware of the thing that, the hero can not perform or has she been stunned by his looks? One should have atleast some sense before commenting some thing about someone.If she were to be a good director she can even make a stone to act, it has not happened,that itself shows that the director is not capable or she doesnot have capacity to tame the shrewed. such directors who do not know anything.are becoming directors and contributing a lot towards the down fall of the kannada Film Industry. The team leader should lead the team but not take the team towards abys

if the director wastes producers' money unnecessarily, she should be fired first and then file criminal charges against her. i must say she is a mental and she deserves to be in mental hospital. just because she is from america, she does not own all kannada actors. such people must be banned by KFCC from Bengalooru for life and that is our wish.
