Budding Sandalwood actress Amoolya has filed a police complaint, claiming that she received threatening calls saying that she along with her brother will be kidnapped and killed if she failed to pay money. She has filed a complaint at Vyalikaval Police Station. K. Deepak brother of Amoolya received threating call from the same person on December 6 and caller claimed his name as Jayaram. Amoolya along with her brother met Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari and requested him to increase their security. Bidari directed Vyalikaval police to investigate this issue.

Earlier on November 9 Amoolya's family found coconut shells, stones and brick pieces on which Amoolya's name had written. They didn't consider it seriously and thought that some crazy fan might have done this act. On the 6th of December caller claimed that he has acted on behalf of his friend Brahma and if they considered it as a hoax Amoolya and Deepak would be killed near her college.

Amoolya recently bagged a lead role in Prakash Raj's dream project Naanu Nanna Kanasu which is a remake of Tamil movie Abhiyum Naanum and which was dubbed in Telugu as Akashamantha
