Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam"s first Kannada album 'Neene Bari Neene' (Nine Bari Nine) was recently released at a grand gala function in Windsor Manor Hotel, Bangalore. The album has been produced by industrialist Ashok Kheny. Noted lyricist Jayant Kaikini (Jayanth Kaykini) has penned the lyrics of the album. Besides singing, Sonu has also acted alongside Bollywood model Madhuri Mukharjee.
Addressing the album release function, industrialist-turned-producer Ashok Kheny said, “I wanted to contribute something to Karnataka, because Kannada people have shown me lot of love and have supported me a lot. Now, I am happy that I"m at least able to contribute an album to Kannada music industry."
“In order to fulfill my desire, I contacted Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam. He has sung more number of Kannada songs than Bollywood. He happily agreed to do an album in Kannada. The result of that is the album 'Neene Bari Neene". It"s really come out well. I request Kannada music lovers to listen and encourage us," he added.
Kannada lyricist Jayant Kaikini has written nine songs for the album 'Neene Bari Neene". He said, “I"m very happy today. For the first, my lyrics are coming out in the form of an album. A lyricist expects his lyrics should be made an album rather than movie songs."
Bollywood model Madhuri Mukharjee has acted alongside singer Sonu Nigam in the album 'Neene Bari Neene". She said, “I"m very happy to star in the album 'Neene Bari Neene'. It has been shot in cool and beautiful locations of Karnataka. I never knew that this state has such beautiful locations."
However, Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam entered the Kannada film industry through a song in record breaking Kannada movie Mungaru Male in 2007. His first song in Kannada has become universal hit. After this movie, Sonu got many offers to sing in Kannada films. Now he has sung more songs in Kannada than in any other language.
Recently, Sonu Nigam has posted the title track 'Neene Bari Neene" of his first Kannada album on his Facebook account. The song is very melodious and haunts the mind of listener. The album is sure to rock the Kannada music lovers.
