More about Dasavatharam

Kamal Hassan's magnum opus film Dasavatharam directed by K.S.Ravi Kumar and produced by Asacar Ravichandran is set to release on June 13. Already the film has been touted as the biggest Indian film to hit the screens. Over one thousand prints of the film will be screened world over. In Karnataka Dasavatharam and its Telugu version will be released simultaneously. While the Tamil film is being released in Bangalore, in other districts like Kolar the Telugu version is being released.

One man doing 11 roles, 10 on screen and one off it (as scriptwriter) is a first in the history of world cinema. You have heard a lot about the story, probably more than what you have about any film before its release. A story that spans 9 centuries and takes you across the globe on a big adventure and on a canvas so big that Indian cinema, maybe world cinema, has never witnessed. Here's a look at just how big the film is before Dasavatharam review is out:

Dasavatharam – the cast:
One Kamal Hassan in the cast is good enough to make a movie more than interesting, here we have 10 Kamals in one movie- the experience will be something special. Then there is Asin in the biggest role of her career. Yes, the young lady has already proved her mettle but this time she is rubbing shoulders with a legend in every sense of the word. Mallika Sherawat as the CIA agent, Napolean as Kulothunga Sozhan, Jayapradha and others.

Dasavatharam- the technology:
Everything associated with the movie has been given extraordinary care and no one but the best in the world have been involved with the movie at each stage. Take for instance Andy Dixon, the world renowned stunt choreographer who has to his credit films like Transporter 2. He is the man behind the reportedly huge stunt sequences. Michael Westmore, who transformed Jim Carrey into The Mask, is the one who has handled the make up department. Six hours a day for Kamal is what was spent only on make up to get the right look for one of the characters and it was 4 hours for Napolean. The levels of perfection can only be imagined. The visual effects, too, had an expert from Hollywood handling matters: Brayn M Jennings, an Oscar nominee.

Dasavatharam- the research:
When there is history and mythology involved you never want to take chances because you never know who you might end up hurting, and some people derive acute pleasure by feeling that they have been hurt and create a lot of trouble. Dasavatharam did not want any of this and so brought in the top brains of the country in history from IIT, Tanjore University etc. and made sure that the script is foolproof.

Dasavatharam vs Sivaji - by the end of 2 weeks In less than a week of trade analysis that presented a totally different picture – of Dasavatharam's collections struggling to reach the earlier released Sivaji's in the overseas market – this week reports suggest that Dasavatharam has outperformed Sivaji by a whopping $ 7,947,960.By the end of second week in the international market (excluding USA), Dasavatharam had made $11,653,212 as opposed to Sivaji that raked in $3,705,252 during the same duration. Kamal's 10-act was placed at 11th position at the worldwide box-office rating. Reports from USA have also been very encouraging, putting the movie as one of the top grossing South Indian movie ever.Third weekend results are awaited.Distributors who hold the overseas rights are evidently kicked about the results and are excited about the future prospects that look optimistic too.

i will tell u guys pls don't compare rajni wid kamal if rajni is for style den kamal is for acting...Rajni flicks a cigarrete and d movie is a hit cause he has a huge mass crowd following him...whereas for Kamal its not a bit like dat he has to act really well for his movie to get hit and dasavataram is one such case...Its exactly like MGR and Sivaji if MGR was for style Sivaji was for acting...but i never said dat MGR did not know how to act...MGR WAS ONE OF THE BEST...coming to Dasavatharam it was a really kewl and awesome movie and i really pity those critics whose religious sentiment is hurt and who r bent on getting d movie banned..come on man get a life!if u don't want to watch don't watch let d other ppl watch u jus' can't impose UR VIEWS ON OTHERS...If something like dis shakes d roots of ur religious sentiments den it dosen't mean dat d movie is not gud it jus' means DAT U DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH IN URSELF AND GOD...ur roots r not strong and u can be easily shaken by anyonez view...

Actor Kamal Hassan's quest for Oscar award is widely known; that he will stoop to any low in that direction is proved by his latest film titled ‘Dasavataram’. Having seen this film in a prominent cinema hall recently, I feel disgusted to say that the film deserves to be totally banned from public exhibition on several counts. First and foremost, the word ‘Dasavataram’ is considered sacred and very much part of Hindu culture relating to Lord Vishnu's reincarnations primarily for destruction of evil; the word any sane man born and brought up in Hindu culture easily understands. It is ironical that this actor has dared to title his film with the noble name which invokes instant veneration and what one actually see or feel is narration of his version of events essayed in his perverted mind, in the name of freedom of expression, without caring two hoots about the impact it is going to make on public mind especially in India. This so-called versatile actor has miserably failed in his attempt to portray 'secularism' as he supposes and understands by choosing to portray other major communities in the country like Christians, Muslims and Sikh as do-gooders and that only Hindus are religious fanatics, right from the very first frame of the film. He has further shown that individuals belonging to international communities including NRIs are bent upon leashing acts of terror on fellow human beings in other parts of the globe, for the sake of gathering wealth and in the name of science

it will be a nice movie for those ppl who can appreciate the effort and the quality of it… it will be a flop, boring, bad story, n so on as bad as u can can review for those ppl who cannot accept the fact of the movie….. For me, the movie awesome, great and it is a big achievement in Indian cinema…. please do not compare this movie with any other INDIAN movies…. its like disgrace the movie, the dasavatharam team, and thier effort…. the worst part, ppl comparing this movie with SIVAJI.. can any1 tell me anything new in Sivaji at least 1??? i can tell u more than 1 from dasavatharam….. so please… its not about the actors.. its bout the quality of the outcomez… am not from India… When my friend(non-indian) was watchin Sivaji, he keeps on laughin because he said most of the parts in the movie “lame” …. which is so true even for us (tamilanz) but wut 2 do, the star always hide the LAMENESS of the movie…. try to think by urself…. how u will feel when sum1 else laughin at OUR movie…. do you want that to continue….? well.. cum to the point… Dasavatharam is superb movie and as we all can see Kamal shows his best.. every part of the movie is sumtin new for me and made the movie different from any other movies in term of technologies, story, perfection, acting talent and so on… so… it does not matter that d movie can break the box office record or not… its not an issue actually…. just hope that indian cinema will learn alot from this movie and can do more better than this in future….. lastly…. watch the movie and u will know more about life because the movie implies a strong message to the human… but the message will be hidden for ppl who realy do not have any sense in thier life… stop arguing and givin negative feedback… Get a life…..
