Interview with Mungaru Male's Ganesh

The latest busy bee and now big star in the Kannada Film industry, Ganesh, has his hands full with success and with movies. We caught him on set and he was gracious enough to give us his time and answer a few questions...

How do you feel now that the movie has been a runaway success?
I feel very happy.

Who would you say is responsible for the movie being an outright hit?
Mungaru Male is the effort of teamwork. Nobody is solely responsible for the success of the film. Everybody involved deserves equal credit.

When Yogaraj Bhat approached you to play the lead role in the film, did you sense that indeed it would be a runaway success?
When I read the script, I knew immediately that it would be a huge hit.

This success must have got directors and producers running to you with offers. Do you have any at hand?
Yes, I have two films that you will see me in soon. One is Hudugata under the Chaluvina Chitra banner. It is being directed by S Narayan. And the other is the Ramesh Yadav directed Krishna.

Tell us about your entry into films and acting?
My first film was Tapori in which I played a negative role, that of a villain. My movies after that were all side roles. Mungaru Male is my fifteenth film.

Tell us a little about your childhood?
I was born and brought up in Adikamaranahalli. I am the eldest of three brothers. My younger brothers are Umesh and Mahesh. I finished my Diploma in Electronics. My fathers and mothers names are Kishen and Sulochana respectively.

What is your favourite song from Mungaru Male?
Anisuthidhe ...

Any favourite scene?
The scene with the rabbit is my favourite scene. As a matter of fact, I have kept that rabbit with me after shooting for the film....

Who do you look upto in todays generation of actors? Who is your all time favourite actor?
I don't have any favourites in the Kannada film industry. I like all actors.

What is your dream project?
I don't have a dream project as such. For me, every film is a dream project, every film a dream film, every actor a dream actor and every director a dream director. I face each project with a fresh mind - like it truly is a new project

What kind of roles do you fancy playing?
I don't have any kind of special affinity for comedy or action roles. I am an entertainer. I am willing to go to any length to give my best performance yet. I want to be a versatile actor. I do not want to be stereotyped , playing this or that kind of roles(s).

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
I have not charted a plan out as such. I intend to take it as it comes. I will try my best to be an entertainer to the best of my ability. If I fail to deliver, I ask for forgiveness. That's all I have to say.

Do you have a desire to act in other language films?
No, why should I? I am perfectly happy acting in Kannada Movies. I am getting the kind of roles that I want.

What do you have to say to your fans?
My message to my fans is for them to be happy. I appreciate their support and affection.

Circus shot in train

Producer- director Dayaal's long cherished dream of shooting major portions of a film in a rented train has been fulfilled. All the portions which required to be shot in a train has now been completed for his new film Circus. Dayaal becomes emotional when he recounts as to how this pet dream project had eluded him despite his best efforts and became possible only after Ganesh gave a nod to his project.

"The script was ready nearly a decade ago. Many people.....

Chintakayala Ravi - Review

Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji) who had produced the blockbuster Lakshmi with Venkatesh, has again roped in the same hero for his next movie Chintakayala Ravi. Lakshmi had some action in the backdrop but this time, Venkatesh has chosen a flick, which has a storyline with family entertainment, with a touch of sentiment. Directed by Yogesh, the film really has the Venkatesh-type of comedy and the film will reminds the audiences of his earlier films Nuvvu Naaku Nachav and the recent Aadavari Maatalaku.....
