The major highlight of the movie is that it has a huge cast of well-known actors like Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift. Moreover, audience will get to see the chemistry between different stars on screen.
With a couple of surprises, the movie has a contrived and predictable story, which is the interwoven story of several couples and singles as they experience sex, love and relationship issues with the added pressures and expectations associated with 'Valentine's Day'. It deals with a variety of relationships from first dates to longtime commitments, from young crushes to old flames and from interracial relationship to gay's love affair.
The movie Valentine's Day has a message that a person can find love at any age. It is meant for people of all ages. The movie cuts across generations from a childhood crush to teenage angst and old age in showing the sweet and messy sides of either approaching or avoiding love. Besides this, it offers some great laugh out loud moments and interesting twists.
The movie has few drawbacks too. Firstly, the movie seems to have violated reasonable expectations of the audience. It delivers plenty of wish fulfillment, but hardly fulfills any of them. Secondly, several characters lack realism and basic human nature. Somewhere, they seem to be behaving according to the demands of the screenplay. Finally, it has very less number of sentimental sequences and it hardly touches the emotional chord of audience.
