The 85th Academy Awards (Oscar Awards 2013) was announced at a grand function at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles on Sunday (February 24) in Hollywood.
The big award of the night (Best Picture/Movie) went to Argo and its producers Ben Affleck, George Clooney and Grant Hezlov. What's more....the film also won the awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing.
It was Daniel Day-Lewis who walked away with the award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in Lincoln while Jennifer Lawrence bagged the award for the Best Leading actress in Silver Linings Playbook. Django Unchained‘s Christoph Waltz won the award for Best Supporting Actor, and Les Miserables‘ Anne Hathaway bagged the award for Best Supporting Actress. Life of Pi bagged four awards, including Oscars for Cinematography, Visual Effects and Original Score.

Argo bagged the award for Best Picture/Movie at the 85th Academy Awards. The award, presented by First Lady Michelle Obama from the White House via satellite, capped off an eventful awards season for director/star Ben Affleck, who many believe had been snubbed without a directing nod. The film also won awards for Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
