Jim Carrey apologises to rifle defenders
Los Angeles: Actor-comedian Jim Carrey, who feels gun laws should be stricter in the US, has apologised for his 'outrage' against the defenders of gun rights. Carrey, who recently announced that he was not even in favour of the level of violence shown in his upcoming film Kick-Ass 2, took to Twitter to apologise, reports eonline.com.

"Assault rifle fans, I do not agree with you, nor do I fear you but I do love you and I'm sorry that in my outrage I called you names. That was wrong," wrote Carrey. "I don't need a crisis manager, just a conscience. Calling people names is inappropriate, but my position on assault weapons hasn't changed," he added.

Jim Carrey is currently busy promoting his upcoming Hollywood movie Kick-Ass 2, which is slated to hit the screens across the globe on July 18. It is all about the costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass, who joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.
