Actor Robert Downey Jr. is teaming up with his wife Susan Downey to produce a movie, which is based on the sinking of USS Indianapolis during the World War II in 1945. The Hollywood couple will join hands with Warner Bros. Pictures in developing this project. The movie will be presented through a modern lens.

The untitled Hollywood movie revolves around an 11-year-old boy named Hunter Scott, who sets out to clear the name of the Indianapolis' late court-martialed captain Charles McVay. He learns about the Indianapolis through a scene from 'Jaws' while he is looking for a subject for a national History Day competition. His research and testimony leads to the clearing of the captain's official record.

Director JJ Abrams had tried to develop the project through Universal Studios in 2000. But the project was put into turnaround and was kept aside. Finally, Warner Bros. is bringing the Hunter's story to the big screen. Robert Schenkkan has been tapped to write the screenplay for this new Hunter Scott project.
