Jeff Conaway dies at 60

Jeff Conaway, whose real name is Jeffrey Charles William Michael Conaway, died at 10:30 am on Friday in Encino nine days after being put into a medically induced coma. The 60-year old troubled actor was pulled off life support Thursday following an apparent overdose of painkillers. He was surrounded by his sisters, nieces, nephews and ministers.

Jeff Conaway's manager Phil Brock has confirmed the news of the actor's death. "We loved Jeff as a person, respected him as a consummate performer and entertainer. Somewhere in heaven, somebody is getting a hickey from Kenickie," The Hollywood Reporter quotes Brock's statement.

Meanwhile Phil Brock also said that Jeff Conaway's family is yet make his memorial plans. Phil added, "On a darker side, we're happy his personal struggles are now over. We do not have memorial plans yet. The family has asked for forbearance and privacy today. It's a very difficult time."

However, Jeff Conaway began his acting on Broadway at age two. He appeared in the play 'All the Way Home' in 1960. He attended North Carolina School of the Arts. He appeared in the 1977 Disney film Pete's Dragon. He is best known for playing Kenickie in the 1978 motion picture musical 'Grease' and for his role on the television series 'Taxi'. His sudden demise has shocked many in both film and TV industry.
