The Twilight: Saga Eclipse in trouble

Published: Friday, April 16, 2010, 17:05 [IST]

London, (ANI): Movie bosses have dismissed rumours that the next Twilight film is beset with problems, insisting that stories of disagreements and re-shoots have been blown out of proportion.

The cast and crew of the upcoming third instalment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, are preparing to head back to Vancouver, Canada to re-shoot several scenes ahead of the movie's release in June this year.

The news sparked rumours that executives at Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the hit films, were not happy with the final cut. Stories also surfaced suggesting director David Slade had been dropped from the re-shoots following a disagreement with studio executives.

But a representative for Summit is adamant the re-shoot is not indicative of problems with the film - it has been planned for months and 'very little' footage needs to be filmed again. The spokesperson also insisted movie bosses are 'very happy' with Slade's direction, and he will be involved when filming restarts.

"The reshoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films. None of the meadow or action scenes are being re-shot," the Daily Star quoted his rep as telling GossipCop.com. "Reports much like the one earlier today are ploys to drive traffic (to gossip websites) without any merit and without any support from the studio on what is actually going on or true," the rep added.
