I so loved her. She was just great in the Thornbirds. I also remember a movie she was in I think, Mary Queen of Scotts, she was so young and beautiful. Thanks for all the great entertainment you gave us. Rest in peace.

Jean Simmons was a terrific actress. I loved her in "Until They Sail" & "Elmer Gantry" & especially in "The Actress" with Spencer Tracy and Theresa Wright--two of my other favorites. She had a lovely voice & narrated for The History Channel as well. A lady every inch of the way, gorgeous--actually, one of the few actress I could see playing Scarlett O'Hara besides Vivien Leigh. What a loss. My sympathy to her family and friends. I'm sure TCM will have a film tribute to her within the next few weeks. They're very good about such things. Rest in Peace, Ms. Simmons.

I remember her for Spartacus and Elmer Gantry. She was a beautiful, classy, British brunette and a fine actress.

What a loss to the film industry! If you don't know this actress, among her gret films, check out "Desiree," "Until They Sail," "Angel Face," "Home Before Dark" (my favorite of hers), "The Happy Ending," "Great Expectations" (dir. David Lean), and "The Actress." A great beauty in the league of Elizabeth Tayor, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly.
