London (ANI): 'Slumdog Millionaire' star Dev Patel has dismissed rumours that he has secretly proposed to girlfriend Freida Pinto. The stars of the Academy Award-winning movie grew close during the shoot and confirmed their relationship last year.
In May, the couple sparked gossip they were preparing to get married when they were spotted in a bakery looking at wedding cakes. But Patel is resolute they aren't planning their big day and found clarifying after his mother read the rumours online.
"I was like, ''Mum, I didn't (get engaged) - trust me.'' Nothing's happened. Everything is fine. I'm just shooting a film," the Daily Star quoted Patel as telling People.com. "My mum will go to work and (have to) explain to everyone why they have written that her son is going to get engaged and got a wedding ring, and how it's all not true," he added.
