Will Breaking Dawn break Deathly Hallows Box Office record?

Two of the biggest fantasy movies of Hollywood are competing against each other to claim the biggest Box Office record. Harry Potter movies have always been a craze among the viewers and their success story has been later challenged by the Twilight series, whose three movies have already released.

Since 2008, when the first Twilight movie hit the big screen, it has been giving a tough competition to the 'Harry Potter' films. It can be termed as a war of vampire versus wizard at the Box Office!

The recently released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows secured a place and made a Box office record by becoming the sixth best opening film in the weekend in history earning $125.1 million in North America. The Part 1 of the last Harry Potter movie made a worldwide record sale of tickets worth over the weekend. With this, the rivalry is expected to grow more as the Breaking Dawn is set to release on November 18, 2011.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows also had the fifth best opening with an estimated $61.2 million. It will be really tough for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to beat this record made by Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson starrer movie. However, they have enough time to get themselves prepared for this face off and by this time, we can also expect the second part of the last Harry Potter movie hitting the screens.

Over these years, it has been an overdose of Pattinson and Stewart so if the stories don"t offer something really exciting apart from the honeymoon of Robert and Kristen then they may end up losing the battle at the Box Office!

to be honest, if the twilight books weren't made into films, i won't know any of the stars of twilight except for pattinson! there is no veteran actor in the cast! unlike in the whole movie franchise of HP, you'll see michael gambon, alan rickman, maggie smith, ralph fiennes, gary oldman, imelda staunton, helena bonham carter, jim broadbent, bill nighy, timothy spall, david thewlis, jason isaacs, emma thompson, robbie coltrane, richard griffiths, fiona shaw and julie walters! and all of them are...

HARRY POTTER IS THE BEST BOOK AND FILM SERIES I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!Twilight, on the other hand, is the worst. To be honest, I don't know any of the Twilight actors except for Pattinson! He should be thankful that he was chosen for the part of Cedric. If he wasn't chosen, I think he won't be famous right now. And I hate how Bella becomes desperate whenever he sees Edward. I hate girls like that. I prefer Hermione, she is a great symbol for all intelligent, young girls out there!

Excuse me, but the highest-earning Twilight film among the three did not even reach Harry Potter's lowest-earning movie: Prisoner of Azkaban. and Daniel, Emma and Rupert are the best!! Compare it to the losers Robert(who was the former Cedric Diggory;he looked better as Cedric than Edward), Kristen and Taylor! Yuck is all I can say. And didn't you notice Kristen's face? It's shape is like a mango, her chin is pointed!

I think Twilight is a bad influence, the book series should not be read by young children. Stephen King is absolutely right too. J.K. Rowling is the best author for me, she's also a former teacher! and Stephenie Meyer is just a stupid librarian.

Harry Potter is the best! And trivia, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the fastest-selling book in the Guinness Book of World Records, 11 million in just 24 hours!! I'm a 100% sure Twilight can't beat that! I'm sure it will also be the best when it comes to box office hits. By the way, I don't think Twilight is a good book.

I have watched all the films and i have to say that twilight is better. Breaking dawn is definitely gonna beat deathly hollows. Hands down. Since around the third film of harry potter, the whole thing has got completely boring. It was dragged out wayyyyy too long. Didnt go see deathly hollows in theatre, waiting for the dvd release. Already planning on having the breaking dawn tickets reserved as soon as they come out. :) Good day every one!

we should base the popularity on the worldwide box office success NOT on the US domestic gross only. Because the films were shown all over the world,,, and hands down Harry Potter wins! Imma fan of both though. I'm just putting it out there.

All box office records aside, it is clear that Harry has had WAY better writing, far better performances overall (maybe not in the first few movies, but the last two... BAM.. meanwhile, Robert Pattinson still only has one face), British acting elite from Alan Rickman to Bill Nighy, more complexity, far better cinematography, and, of course, way, way better source material with depth, symbolism and heart that goes far beyond the creepy, whiny teen angst o Twilight.
