Tiger Woods punctures Accenture?

'Just another day in the life of a tiger' is how the Accenture commercials featuring golfer Tiger Woods ends. But the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company is having severe head aches explaining just some days in the lives of the ace sportsman. Accenture whose tag line reads 'high performance delivered' is finding it hard to ignore the fiasco in his personal life of their ambassador.

Accenture which has had a long association with Tiger since the last six years is yet to comment on the issue but an alarm has already been sounded. There are already questions being thrown up on how brands endorsed by Woods will get impacted. Considering the fact the Woods pockets around $100 million annually from endorsement brands have a reason to be worried. Apart from Accenture, Tiger Woods also endorses brand like Nike, Gillette and Gatorade.

Tiger Woods' public image got tarnished when he was involved in domestic violence wife Elin Nordegren at his home. The ace golfer later accepted to have cheated his wife claiming to have had extra-marital affairs with cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs and nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. On his website he had posted "I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family."

I used to work for Accenture and was really tired of having Tiger Woods shoved down our throats. "Go on, be a Tiger!" was the motto. It wasn't only the ads you see, but almost every internal documentation had Tiger on it. In the buildings, every corner you turn, Tiger was in front of you in some form. Tiger was the God, and the employees were the little beings who can only try to become someone like Tiger one day. Just another trick Accenture employs to motivate their employees to work very long hours. I hope the sr. executives are happy now. Yes, some of them got lucky and played golf with Tiger, which cost the company a lot of money. Accenture should have used the money to keep their employees happy instead. Or give discounts to customers. Or buy back shares. Or increase dividend. Anything, but this.

Accenture so deserves this, will just have to wait and watch how they are gonna play this...the hoarding should already have started coming down.. definitely overplayed the 'tiger'card..

No doubt tiger has not just let his but the brand associated with him down. Accenture being a consultancy company have invested in a wrong place. I agree to the comments by Edrick that company should have distributed their employees that millions of $ spend on someone like Tiger. Some company's still don’t understand what the need to the resource as of now is....the quality work or brand ambassador... Wake up now at least.

I was embarrassed for Accenture WAYYY before this fiasco. What does a golfer have to do with consulting? ...NOTHING! Accenture will now reap what they've sowed by wasting millions on a golfer instead of paying their employees better. Accenture & Tiger are jokes!
