Washington (ANI): American actress Tara Reid has claimed that she is 'clean and sober' after her 60-day stint in rehab. She had checked into Malibu, California's Promises clinic on December 8, where she also spent the holidays fighting an alcohol abuse problem. She now insists that she is free from all.

"Rehab saved my life. Before, I used to think about tomorrow and I hated it. Now I can't wait," Contactmusic quoted her as telling In Touch Weekly magazine. She also revealed that before she entered rehab, she refused to acknowledge the fact that she needed help. She said that it was only on a trip to the sacred Western Wall in Jerusalem, Israel, that she finally accepted it.

"The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time (and) finally admitting that I had a problem," she said. "I wasn't drinking any more than my friends, so I didn't get it. I'd think, 'Why am I an alcoholic and she isn't?' The truth is, some people can drink, and some can't... I like alcohol but it didn't like me. I numbed my feelings. It was no life to live," she stated.

Reid now has a new set of sober friends, and is keen to stay single for the recommended 12 months post-rehab. "My focus is to get back in my career and stay sober, and keep on having a better life one day at a time," she added.

She is set to launch a clothing line after her stint in rehab. Reid, who has just checked out of the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California, after a 60-day stint, is looking forward to rebuilding her acting career. But, in the meantime, she is launching her Mantra clothing line with a preview at the Project Show in Las Vegas on February 18.

"I designed everything, and I am really proud of it. I didn't know I had it in me," Contactmusic quoted her as telling In Touch Weekly magazine.
