Patrick Swayze confined to a wheelchair

Actor Patrick Swayze was seen leaving Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 26. The 57-year-old star looked gaunt and frail as he was wheeled to a waiting car by medical staff, reports the Daily Mail.

The Dirty Dancing star has been fighting an ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer. He suffered from intestinal bleeding and was admitted to hospital in Beverly Hills earlier this month. During the treatment, he was accompanied by his wife Lisa and brother Danny.

According to the Daily Mail from London, Swayze has been confined to a wheelchair. Once again he hid his head under a cowboy hat, while tubes connected to drips and catheter bags could be seen coming out of his clothing.

“The star has looked healthier in photographs taken within the past month but is still said to be in a lot of pain. Swayze has already defied experts by surviving more than a year with the disease. Doctors say most patients live less than six months with that specific type of cancer," reports Daily Mail.

However, Patrick Swayze was first diagnosed with cancer in March 2008. He is currently working on his biography, The Time Of My Life, at his home in LA and has been spotting smoking despite the risks to his worsening health. The actor seems to be not afraid of death.

Man, Patrick I dont even know what to say. I respect u more than you wll ever know. I cant speak from experience but my mother died from the most preventable form of cancer. And watching her defy the odds of 6 months to nearly 5 yrs I would have to say that anything is possible. U r my hero because u accept what had been brought on to u but u continue to say I can. You inspire me, I recently have learned that I will be a father. I am 32 and this is my first. I have been raised to believe that I can! "overall" and I use to term loosely: that we are here to promote an ever "advancing" civilization. In the purest sense of the meaning, regardless of upbringing, religious belief or state of mind. In the purest form, I belief that you have done more than you realize to help promote that. You may not know the impact that u have on others but I do. I am living proof. U made a believer out of me. Tuffest most compassionate M-effer I know. ( Respectfully) Luv E..
