Megan Fox not the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer

London (ANI): Producers of Buffy The Vampire Slayer have shot down rumours that they have roped in Hollywood siren Megan Fox for the TV show's upcoming big screen revival. The bosses insist that casting is yet to begin.

Sarah Michelle Gellar famously played the role of a vampire slayer in the blood sucking TV series. Her show ran for six years before coming to an end in 2003. And Fox has been a rumoured favourite to revive the series since studio bosses announced last month they are looking for a new vampire slayer to take the story back to the big screen, reports The Daily Express.

However, producer Roy Lee said: "The rumours of Megan Fox being involved with Buffy are just rumours. “As with any film project with a female lead under the age of 30, Megan is the actress that most studios want so it is no surprise her name is mentioned. While I think she would be great for our project, we are still in the early stages of developing the script."

I watched the movie it was lame, I watched the the series with sarah and the rest and it rocked so much so i bought the full collection on dvd. unless you have the cast from the series and joss leave it be or you'll destroy it!!!

i agree guys, but at the end of the day the original cast would have to be interested and perhaps there not. but no way would it work without Sarah michelle Gellar. she made it what it was, and yes josh whendon would have to be involved in the movie just won't work any other way.

The show ran for seven years. Why would they make a movie without the Buffy cast? If they want to do that don't call it Buffy because obviously it's not. Joss Whedon has apparently said that he will have no involvement in it what so ever. I also heard that Anthony Stewart Head has come out and said I wouldn't want to see it, no. The Kuzuis didn't do a great job on the movie the first time around. It was Joss' script at the age of 19, but they changed a lot of it. They said, 'Look, we know best and we know how to make this movie,' and it became quite schlocky and high camp. It would be madness to do (the movie) without Whedon. It may be a bit like watching a car wreck.

WTH? Why would they try to do it without the original cast? It has such a HUGE cult following. I think it would be tremendously disappointing to have anyone replace them. Part of what made it such a hit was the chemistry among the actors.

So many different shows have tried to live up to the standard that Buffy the Vampire Slayer created for that venue it makes me laugh. Take a look at the similar shows such as True Blood and the new Vampire Diaries. Sad comparisons. I do hope they revamp the show, pun intended, and bring on a new Vampire Slayer but really have doubts that it'd fly. I think it would be too much to live up to and would look generic to try and remake a Willow or Xander. Good luck though. I look forward to it.
