Gillian Anderson may snub X Files film sequel

London (ANI): Gillian Anderson may refuse to star in the X Files sequel, if reports are to be believed. The 40-year-old, who appeared in the film The X Files: I Want To Believe last year, is said to be looking to putting herself out of the typecast.

"It took a while for Gillian to establish a career for herself outside the X Files and she's now enjoying her acting more than ever before," the Daily Express quoted a source as saying. "She's very proud of The X Files but feels her career has now moved on to a different phase," the source added.

Gillian, who plays the FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the cult TV show, previously confessed that it had been tough getting out of The X Files stereotype. She said: "While I was doing it I imagined it wouldn't possibly typecast me but it does to a certain degree."

I agree. It's a total fabrication that she refuses to do it. I'm not so sure I want them to make an X Files 3-and I am a huge Phile-but either way, the rumors need to stop. She deserves better than that after everything.

listen we have heard this before the x files: i want to believe came out. Everyone said before it came out that she didnt wanna do it, and until i hear gillian herself say she wont do another one then i wont believe it.

At the permire in London they asked her and David if they wanted to do another one and they said yes. SO I'm pretty sure this is a rumor.

Does anyone have any facts to back this up? I mean, I can understand, but she didn't seem completely turned off to the idea during the junkets last year.. if she doesn't do it, I think it has less to do with distancing herself from the character, and more to do with distancing herself from her co-star after all the rumors they started last July..
