Drew Barrymore protests ban on gay marriage

London, (ANI): Actress Drew Barrymore along with Emmy Rossum and other celebrities rallied on the streets of Hollywood to protest against the new California ban on gay marriage.

The celebrities joined thousands of activists to protest about the re-instatement of Proposal 8, which bans same-sex marriages after they were legalised briefly last year. Star Trek actor George Takei, Kelly Osbourne, Sophia Bush, comedienne Kathy Griffin and singer/actress Deborah Gibson are among other celebrities who have criticised California's approval of the ban.

"I was raised a good Catholic girl and nowhere in church do I remember it ever being an issue for everybody to be treated equally. I can't believe it's 2009 and this is still an issue," the Daily Express quoted Gibson as saying.

Osbourne added, "It goes without saying that if you love someone, you should be able to marry them no matter."

Pluto was demoted from a planet because it didn't have the components to be a planet.Marriage is between man and wife, lets not change the objective meaning. Qweer means weird, give them their own term of "marriage" it will never mean marriage.

And that a 13 year old girl, who, remember, the courts already recognize as mature enough to get an abortion without her parents knowledge, and a 45 year old man should be able to marry if they love each other, right? I Extremist at their best! 13 is far from the Legal Age of Marriage, no where did she lean towards that position. Gay Marriage is about two Consenting legal age Adults, stick to the facts!

VA Spectator: What the hell does a 45 year old man and 13 year old girl have to do with gay marriage? It's laughable comparisons like this why your side will lose. There is no good argument against gay marriage. Barrymore is on the right side of history. Which side are you on? The side of the racists and homophobes that will die out, or side of progress that will prevail?

So Kelly Osbourne says that people who love each other should be allowed to marry... no matter. I guess she believes an already married man who loves another woman should be able to marry her. And that a 13 year old girl, who, remember, the courts already recognize as mature enough to get an abortion without her parents knowledge, and a 45 year old man should be able to marry if they love each other, right? It's the shortsighted, kneejerk reactions of celebrities like these that cause so much trouble in the world. Hey, celebrities! Do what you're good at: acting or singing. Leave the politics alone until you've actually educated yourselves on it.
