London (ANI): Avril Lavigne split from hubby Deryck Whibley because she was quite young for wedlock, and 'needed her own life', it has emerged. "She married too young and she finally realized that. Avril realized she needs her own life and needs to explore things without him," the Sun quoted a source as having told People.
The 24-year-old Sk8ter Boi hitmaker walked down the aisle with Sum 41 lead singer Whibley in July 2006. However, there marriage was in doldrums over the last six months, and insiders say Avril was not happy with a 'non-happening' marital life.
The sources have also ruled out Whibley wanting children or Avril seeing pal Brandon Davis as the reasons for the split. Whibley has quit the couple's Bel Air home, and divorce papers are expected to be signed soon.
