London (ANI): Veteran actor Jon Voight wants to end the bitter feud with his estranged daughter Angelina Jolie, and has expressed his desire to meet his six grand-children along with her partner Brad Pitt, it has emerged. The Oscar winning star, who turned 70 on December 29, is desperate to get his family back together.
"There's nothing Jon wants more than to have his family back together again," the Daily Express quoted a source as saying. "It kills him to be shunned by his children. He's willing to do whatever it takes to put this rift behind him," the source added.
Jolie and Voight have been through a bitter feud ever since he abandoned her mother when she was a year old. But now the 'Coming Home' star wants get back with his daughter, 33 and son James-Haven, 35. "As Jon grows older he's realising the importance of family, and longs to be a part of his daughter and grandchildren's lives," says the insider.
The insider added: "It breaks his heart to be kept away. Since Angelina's mother died, Brad Pitt has been gently urging her to reconcile with her father, if not for her sake, then so the children can have their grandfather in their life."
But Jolie is adamant she will not be rushed into forgiving her father.
