New York (ANI): Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway's hoaxer ex- beau Raffaello Follieri has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in jail. Raffaello, who had done fraud by acquiring millions by claiming to be a Vatican insider, tossed his head and looked up after hearing the verdict.
"I didn't start off with the intention of deceiving anyone, I started off with good intentions determined to run an honorable business and make everyone proud. Instead, I made some terrible mistakes," The New York Daily News quoted Raffaelo, as saying at the hearing.
"I have dishonored my family name and dishonored the church I love, I will never be able to wash away that stain and I will have to live with it for the rest of my life," he added.
Hathaway did not attend the court hearing.
