New Market has acquired the U.S distribution rights for the movie Death of a President, paying $1 million for the movie. The film became one of the most popular movies of the Toronto Film Festival. The film was showcased on Sunday night to a sell-out festival crowd. Produced and directed by Gabriel Range, the movie was shot as if it was a conventional television documentary. The investigative documentary about the imagined assassination of Mr. Bush includes scenes of Bush's three visits to Chicago. Range, who co-wrote the film, used special digital effects for the scenes that show Bush being shot.
"We portrayed the horror of assassination. ... I don't think anyone would get the idea of assassinating Bush from this film," Range said. The movie would be released within the next few months
