Rise of the Apes movie is an origin story set in present day San Francisco. It is a fiction/science story in which, an experiment with genetic engineering made the apes more intellegent which resulted a war with human beings for supremacy.
Its is a prequel story to the film "Planet of the Apes" released in 1968.
