Red Riding Hood movie is very loosely based on the folk tale Little Red Riding Hood collected by both Charles Perrault under the name "Le Petit Chaperon Rouge" (Little Red Riding Hood) & several decades later by the Brothers Grimm as "Rotkäppchen" (Redcape).
