His maiden feature film, a dark and hard-hitting saga, Beyond Honor, has been invited by the Academy of Motion Pictures’ Arts and Sciences to be a part of the Oscar library. His second and equally-appreciated and honoured film, American Blend, seems like a contrast in genres but shares two aspects with the first it reflects its writer-director Varun Khanna’s sensibilities and use of the medium for catharsis, and his preoccupation with the culture clash.
