Vaishali Desai Biography

Vaishali Desai is an Indian model and actor. She has worked in several ads and commercials. She won the Indian title of Miss International 2005. She is the grandniece of the renowned Indian Film Director, late Manmohan Desai.
Early Life and Career
Vaishali was brought up in Bangalore. Vaishali did her schooling in Sophia High School, Bangalore. She finished her graduation in Psychology in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. After her Miss India contest she shifted her base permanently to Mumbai along with her family not only for modelling but also for her further studies. Her younger sister Jaituni Desai is also a model and was a contestant in Miss India contest in 2006.
Vaishali was doing ramp shows in Bangalore and was a top model. Her first show was when she was only sixteen. But her major break and entry in the acting world was with her first commercial for Ponds Dreamflower Talc. And later was seen in ads like Tanishq, Compaq, Raymonds.
Vaishali was seen first in a Ponds commercial after which did a Tanishq commercial followed by an Indian Oil Campaign. She was then seen in a Compaq laptop ad and in the very famous Raymond ad and is now being seen in another Tanishq ad with Nafisa ali. She has also done ads down south, for products like Swarnam Oil, Power detergent, etc. According to rumours Vaishali will soon be seen in an ad with Shah Rukh Khan for Sunfeast and also in a Dabur Gulabari ad.
Vaishali did her first video for Kumar Sanu for the song Aisa na dekho Mujhe. Later she did three videos for the very famous Band Euphoria (Indian band). She did Soneya with them which was followed by Mehfuz which was directed by Pradeep Sarkar. And did a short cameo in their video Rab jaane.
Vaishali had participated in the Elite Look of the Year contest in 2004 and was the 2nd runner-up in it. In 2005 Vaishali participated in the Pond's Femina Miss India contest and was the third runner-up becoming the Miss India International even though she wasn't in the 5 finalists. Vaishali then left in the same year for the Miss International contest in Tokyo, but failed to win.
Vaishali has done various ramp shows for top Indian designers. She has participated in the Lakme Fashion week, Dhaka Fashion week and in the Sri Lankan Fashion week. She has done shows for L'Oreal, Moschino, etc. She has also done a lot of print work as well as editorial work.
