Selva Raghavan Biography

Selvaraghavan is a film director from South India, who born for the tamil film director Kasthuri Raja on June 6, 1976. His elder brother is actor Dhanush and he also has two sisters, who are both doctors. Selvaraghavan and Actress Sonia Agarwal fell in love and got married on 15 December 2006. On august 2009, Sonia and Selva foiled for a divorce petition on mutual consent basis. On March 12th, 2010 i.e. after a span of 6 months, the couple has been granted divorce.

Later, Selva got married with Geetanjali Raman on July 3rd 2011. Geethanjali is his associate in Erandam Ulagam film.

Career:

He shot to fame in his debut venture Thulluvadho Ilamai, a movie about adolescent gags and teenage capers. His next movie Kadhal Kondein won both box office and critical applause. His directorial skills were appreciated by most of Tamil film industry leading directors and other movie critics.

Selvaraghavan, who started directing flims after doing his BE in Mechanical Engineering, relies on the internet and books for his story ideas. He loves doing horror films and admits that he likes to scare people . His favorite directors are Oliver Stone and Francis Ford Coppola and the hero he'd like to direct is Robert de Niro. He loves reading, mostly Wilbur Smith. He considers his strength lies in writing a good screenplay.

Next, he comes with 7/g Rainbow colony movie which is a super hit at box office. Later, Pudupettai with his brother Dhanush which is an average movie. He did a telugu movie with Venkatesh which is also had a good run at box office. Then, After 3 years he comes with a fantasy movie Aayirathil Oruvan. He did a research on the story plot and took more time to make this movie. It also gains huge applause from critics & audiences. Now he is working again with Dhanush for Irandam Ulagam. The movie is expected to release in second half of 2011.
