Right from the childhood days Kongarapi Venkataramana was an active student and showed inclination towards mono acting (solo drama). At an age of 13 years i.e. in 8th class he started performing on stage.
His father, Kongarapi Appa Rao is also a famous stage artist of those days. As a child, Venkataramana used to go along with his father for drama rehearsals and eventually he inherited his fatherâs legacy of stage and theatrical art. He also inherited artistic values and social values from his father who made him a good human being and he soon became the darling of the audience as a child artist and won many prices for his invaluable performance.
Soon after completing his 10th Class, he joined with a famous classical teacher Ms B. Subbalakshmi, who taught him classical dance âBharat natyam in Palakollu. â
During his college days, Venkataramana became more active participant of every cultural activity in his college. This gave him a chance of being elected as a âCultural Activities Secretaryâ of the college. As a leader and as a stage actor, Ramana was proactive and conducted and enacted in dramas and plays. In a significant event, Venkataramana had also got an opportunity to enact in a famous drama called âKokkoro kooâ. He was very much fortunate to act along with Sri Guzzle Srinivas, the famous stage artist.
Soon after completion of his B.A. final exams, he did not even bother to see the results and went to Madras to pursue his career as film director. Initially he joined as an âAssistant directorâ with Mr. Kodi Ramakrishna, the famous film director. Venkataramana assisted him for many films. After that he directed few Telugu TV Serials.
For the first time, he directed âOka pellam Muddu-Rendo Pellam vadduâ film. This was a great opportunity for Venkataramana. He was the sole person behind story, screenplay and direction of this film. This film is a comedy family saga. The lead actors of the film are Rajendra Prasad, Raasi, and
