Jyothirmayi is an Indian actress. She was at first a serial artist then got introduced to Indian films through the film savanna. She had acted in various films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. She then paired up with great actors of Malayalam including Mohanlal and Mammootty. She also got offers opposite superstars Sathyaraj, Vijaykanth etc.
She was a serial artist at first. Indraneelam is one of her famous serials. She has also acted in some Telefilms but was not successful. In her first film Pilots, She played a minor character and the film was a failure. She became a top actress after Meesha Madhavan. She got married to Nishanth, a software engineer on September 6, 2004.
She was born in Kottayam and is the only child of her parents. She resides in Kochi at Kochukadavanthara. She studied at Mata Nagar School (where she and Nishanth studied in the same class) and after that at St. Mary's School. Joined Maharaja's College for pre-degree. She studied for diploma in Public Relations and Journalism from Kerala Press Academy. It was then that she began anchoring programmes on Citi channel and later Asianet. Her start was with ramp shows and modelling. Later, she went into serials and from there onto movies.
