Cal Rein born on Carlo Giardina 20 February 1970. He is an Australian actor.
Early life & early career: Rein was born Carlo Giardina in a small country town of Traralgon in Victoria. At age 9, he spent a year in United States and attended primary school in Middletown, Connecticut. At age 12, he gathered some school buddies to make a short film about the Kelly Gang for a school project. Playing the role of Ned Kelly, he knew from that day he wanted to be an actor. He left high school at the age of 16 and attended Hair College and eventually settled in Melbourne. Rein opened his first barber shop in 1989 for a couple of years then worked in broadcasting at Fox FM, Gold 104.3 and Mix 101.1. In 1996 he worked at Warner Bros. Movie World and went on to host a variety of events around Australia and was the official host for the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Australia Pageant. Rein was a contestant on the dating game show Blind Date aka Perfect Match in 1991 under the name of Carlo Giardina and was chosen as a date. Hosted by Greg Evans and Nicky Buckley. He studied acting under well respected Australian actors including John Orcsik, Ken James and Kim Krejus. In 2002 Rein opening another hair salon in South Yarra and became a celebrity men's hairdresser appearing on Network Ten's Australian Football League lifestyle show "Beyond The Boundary" hosted by Christi Malthouse. Rein sold the business a couple of years later to pursue acting.
Career: Rein’s first television appearance was on Hey Hey It's Saturday in 1986 as a contestant on "Red Faces". His first acting role was playing a reporter on the television series Mission: Impossible which was filmed Down Under in 1989 and he has continued acting in both television and film in dramatic, comedic and action roles.
