Expectations are definitely high from Sudhir Mishra who has given Bollywood masterpieces like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (writer), Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi (director/writer), Is Raat Ki Subha Nahin (director/writer) and he won't let you down this time also with his latest flick Inkaar. Inkaar is a well-crafted script with an intriguing back-and-forth narrative and power packed performances by Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh.

Story

Rahul Varma (Arjun Rampal) is the CEO of an advertising agency, who is accused of sexual harassment by his colleague Maya Luthra (Chitrangada Singh). In a series of flashbacks, you will get to know that Rahul's hard work and the values inherited by his father has made him what he is today. Maya Luthra (Chitrangada Singh) is a small town girl who wants to make it big in life. Rahul meets Maya at an advertising festival, and offers her a job in his agency. Maya soon leaves her small town and reaches Mumbai to work with Rahul. Rahul mentors Maya and nurtures her to get to the post of the National Creative Head of the same agency. Soon the two come too close on a business trip in Thailand. What follows later is a story full of suspense, drama, contradictions and conflicts.

So, whose story would you believe - Maya's, who blames Rahul for sexually harassing her, or Rahul's who claims Maya has used her sexual charm to move up the corporate ladder?

Performances

The actors do complete justice to their brilliantly etched out characters. Inkaar is a tight slap on Arjun Rampal's critics face who say that the actor can't act. He has given an outstanding performance in the movie. And this is definitely Arjun's best performance by far. On the other hand, Chitrangada Singh is definitely someone to watch out for. She is a complete natural and is splendid in her performance.

The supporting actors - Vipin Sharma, Deepti Naval and Gaurav Dwivedi have also performed brilliantly.

Music

Shantanu Moitra's music does full justice to the movie. The background score heightens the impact of several sequences and songs like 'Maula tu malik hai', 'Darmiyan', etc., are really melodious to hear.

Verdict

Inkaar has a good story that holds you till the end. But it's doubtful whether you wanna walk back in for another viewing mainly because of its climax. In a nut shell, it's good for a one time watch for Sudhir Mishra's knack of storytelling and brilliant performances from its actors.
