Director Satyajit Bhatkal deserves praises for coming up with a children's film Zokkomon, because not many dare to make films on this genre. However, he seems to be confused with the story and script, as there is no logic to the film whatsoever. Kids may not look at logic, but you never know because today"s kids ask more questions than adults.

Zokkomon is about an ordinary orphaned boy played by Darsheel Safary of Taare Zameen Par fame. Kumal (Darsheel) is abandoned by his ruthless uncle. However, that becomes a blessing in disguise for him. He finds out the hero within him.

The biggest flipside of the film is its illogical storyline. It is not a superhero film, yet the hero can fly around and vanish into thin air. The film tries to place science over superstition, but the way the protagonist does magic-like stunts is not scientific. The makers of the film should have chosen a straightforward story rather than an illogical one.

As far as the performances of the lead actors are concerned, Darsheel has carried the innocent look he portrayed in Taare Zameen Par. He looks cute in the superhero-like costumes, but he is not very convincing in the character. Manjiri Fadnis is charming and Anupam Kher has done his job.

On the whole, Zokkomon is purely for kids. Sadly, kids who look for logic, may not enjoy it.
