The event, organised by Surat Dreams, a Gujarat-based textile market initiative, will be held for two days in the beach state and will have 1,000 participants including 400 international visitors attending it, the organisers said. Chawla and Dixit will inaugurate the event, said Hitesh Jain, co-founder, Surat Dreams.
"The event will serve as a grand platform to the people of textile industry to explore the opportunities beyond the boundaries of Surat," he said. The two-day event will witness a blend of art and commerce by many exhibitors from across the globe, he said.
The event will also have a fashion show where top models from the fashion fraternity will adorn latest ensembles from the ethnic couture, Jain said. Fashion designers and businessmen from several places, including the US, UK, Bangladesh, Dubai and Colombo, would be participating in the event, to be held at a five-star resort near Panaji.
"With every season, we promise to present fashion that has grown wider and this time also we will bring a mix of traditional eastern and modern western culture, resulting in a dynamic mix of aesthetically pleasing and trendy fashion...," he added. International Ethnic week was earlier organised in places like Surat, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
