It's been more than a decade now that superstar Salman Khan has been celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. He usually used to celebrate it at his Bandra Galaxy apartment. Word was out that this year the actor will be welcoming Lord Ganesh at his Panvel farm house.
However, the plans have been changed. We now hear that Salman will be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at his sister Arpita's apartment in Bandra. The festival begins today, September 9 and goes on till the 20th of this month.
A few sources says that the venue change is because of some renovation work in the farm house. We also got a confirmation from Salman's father Salim Khan about the venue change. Salim Khan tells us the other reason for this last minute change in plans "Also, we always have friends and relatives coming over for Ganpati darshan. Panvel is quite far for everyone to drop by," said Salim.
This is the 12th year that Salman is celebrating the festival by keeping the Lord Ganesh and we hear that this ritual began started at the insistence of Arpita, the youngest of the siblings. It is said that Salman Khan's mother is reported to be a Hindu and therefore his family celebrates even the Hindu festivals. "Arpita is in charge again and the celebrations which start today will continue for one-and-a-half days," Salman's father added.
Besides Salman, Bollywood stars like Govinda, Jitendra, Bappi Lahiri, Shilpa Shetty, Nana Patekar, Vivek Oberoi, Sonu Sood and Shreyas Talpade are known to celebrate Ganesh festival at their residence.
