Spy film Agent Vinod starring Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor in leads, may not have created a stir at the box office, but director Sriram Raghavan is very optimistic about its sequel. The directors says that he has got good response for the film and he wants to avoid the mistakes in sequel that he has done in the first.
Before the release of movie Agent Vinod, Saif Ali Khan had said he would make the film into a franchise. Talking to PTI, Sriram Raghavan says, "We are toying with some ideas for the sequel but we haven't started writing the script yet. But there are a few ideas. As 'Agent Vinod' is still running in theatres, we would wait for 15 days or so and then begin our work (scripting).
When asked about the lead pair in the sequel, Sriram says, "Saif would be there in the second instalment as Agent Vinod. The story would move to different places but eventually India would also be part of the plot. It would be like the Bond series.” He adds, “Other characters would change. Also, once we finish writing the script we would think of which characters to retain and which not."
Talking about the response of film, Sriram Raghavan admits comittting certain mistakes in the film and he also assures them in the sequel. "We have got a good response. The area where we need to improve is length. As it is a fast-action-spy movie, we need to reduce its length. In the next series, we would make sure the length is of two hours only," PTI quotes Sriram saying.
