It all happened at the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication"s (SIMC) annual festival 'Madhyam". Arunoday Singh, Chitrangada Singh and director Sudhir Mishra attended the college to promote their film Yeh Saali Zindagi. However, all hell broke lose after the lead actor kissed a girl on the stage.
It is said that the actor joked about the number of kisses the film has and declared that he would kiss any girl who come to the stage. Following his declaration, a girl came to the stage and they ended up kissing in front of everyone.
The incident has angered the college authorities, as they felt that the unit of the film did it intentionally for publicity. “I was backstage when it happened and I don't believe all this was impromptu. I think they planned it well in advance as a low-cost means of promoting their film," Mid Day quoted SIMC Director Anupam Siddhartha as saying, adding, "They are operating on a shoestring budget and I understand that they want to get publicity free of cost but I wish they hadn't used our college as a means of achieving that. But I can't blame actors, who haven't tasted success yet and are desperate."
Surprisingly, the person who did the stunt is not moved the incident. “It was just a peck on the lips because the audience demanded it and I did not realise that it would become such a big issue. And they were not elementary kids, they are responsible for their actions," Mid Day quoted Arunoday as saying.
Meanwhile, director Sudhir Mishra apologised for hurting the sensibilities of the college authorities while maintaining that it was just an impromptu act.
Well, the crew of Yeh Saali Zindagi should know that they might kiss innumerable times in the film but that doesn"t mean they can kiss around with young students!
