The multifaceted photographer captured most of the celebrities in his camera, including cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Gautam Rajadhyaksha, who is also the cousin of writer Shobha De, was also a script writer and a cinematographer.
He worked in an advertising agency before joining Shobha De's Celebrity magazine, where he shot to fame as a commercial photographer. "My darling Gautam Rajadhyaksha is no more. Saddened beyond belief. Farewell confidante-cousin. Thank you for your generous love and soft focus memories," Shobha De tweeted.
“He used to like opera and had a sound knowledge of classical ragas," says legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Karan Johar said, "When I was hugely overweight...Gautam told me..Darling...not that it makes a difference but try to give me your left profile...it may help! A deep sense of loss...we lost the one man who captured every movie star with his lens and his heart...RIP Gautam...you will remain forever!"
"Possibly one of the sweetest and most gentle people you would ever meet. Rest in peace Gautam, you will be greatly missed," actor Abhishek Bachchan tweeted after his demise.
Indeed Gautam Rajadhyaksha gave a script, which is in pre-production stage, for Pritish Nandy. Recalling the association, the filmmaker said, “Gautam Rajadhyaksha gave me a script and a script outline some time back. He wont be around to see the films being made. He was a friend and did some of the best pictures for the Weekly. And I shall miss him. RIP."
Writer Javed Akhtar said, “Gautam was my friend from 70s. All childhood pictures of Zoya and Farhan in our albums are by him. He was like family to us. He is gone."
We at Oneindia pray that his soul rest in peace!
