Nothing stops Vivek Oberoi these days - not even being in the presence of royalty! He recently taught the 12-year old Prince of Jaipur to whistle. The actor was in Rajasthan to flag off the car rally Women On Wheels.

Vivek was in Jaipur to promote for his next release Prince. Real life Prince Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur heard the actor was in town and expressed a desire to meet VO at his palace. They met over high tea.

Show me how...
The prince then asked the actor to teach him how to whistle like the audience does in theatres. "It was a funny yet awkward moment for Vivek as the Rajmata, Padminideviji was watching them. Finally the Rajmata realising Vivek's predicament gave him the go ahead." Vivek and the prince also bonded over a shared alma mater - Mayo School. "The prince told Vivek that he wanted to see Prince when it released but as it was school term, it would be impossible."

Says Vivek, "Yes I am an ex-Mayoite and was from Jaipur House. The prince's great-great grandfather built Mayo. I am planning to have a special screening for Prince Padmanabh and the other kids in Mayo."

My whistle guru
He confirms he also taught the prince to whistle, while he himself learned how to from "Chitra maasi" who taught him how to whistle, "She's an expert and can belt out the loudest and shrillest blasts!" reveals the actor, adding, "I was 12 and totally fascinated! After much practice (and drool and dribbles) I finally got it and then honed my ceetee skills at the movies."
