Dedutant director Siddharth Malhotra of the recent release We Are Family, has already started planning for his next film. Initially, he wanted to make a film with Kajol but she is on maternity leave so the director has opted to work on a family comedy starring veteran star Rishi Kapoor.
This movie by Siddharth will concentrate on a father and a daughter. The director wants Rishi Kapoor"s niece and Bollywood babe Kareena Kapoor to play the role of the daughter of the actor. However, the casting of daughter is not finalized yet. But the director is reportedly hell bent on creating cinematic history by casting Kareena"s famous uncle as her father.
Malhotra was quoted saying that he wanted to work with Kajol on his next film but as she won"t be able to work for a long time, he chose to work on a family comedy. The director has even completed his comedy script and will cast Rishi Kapoor as the father of a much younger girl. He said that he would work on this family comedy before doing the film with Kajol.
Siddharth wrote the other film keeping Kajol in mind and he does not want to cast anyone else in her place. In fact, for his family comedy, Malhotra wants to cast his best friend actor Shahid Kapoor. Both of them have been good friends since they worked together on Sooraj Barjatya's Vivah.
Speaking about Shahid Kapoor, the director said that he was the Associate Director of Vivah and since then they have been close to each other. The director said that they have become much closer now and he respects the judgment of Shahid.
Siddharth was quoted saying that he cannot confirm anything before Karan Johar reads my script. However, he assured that if given a chance he can present Shahid in a way no one else has done before.
So will Shahid and Kareena pair up again for Siddharth"s movie?
