Jeetendra loves Love Sex Aur Dhokha

Ekta's dad catches her latest production LSD, but not at the previews organised by her

Before the release of Love Sex Aur Dhokha, Ekta Kapoor had screenings for all her friends in B-Town. Almost everyone she knew in the industry saw the film. But one man refused to attend any of the previews - her dad Jeetendra. But after the release, he went to a theatre and watched it.

Bade chhupe-rustom nikkle, daddy! Jeetendra and Ekta Kapoor

Ekta says, "Whenever I invited him, dad said he was busy. Maybe he didn't want to see it and then tell me that he didn't like it. I know dad's sensibilities. Though he is a Punjabi, he has typically Maharastrian middle-class sensibilities, as he has lived in Girgaum most of his life."

Proud of you, beta!
She continues, "After telling me he was too busy, he quietly went and saw it with his friends!" Later, the proud papa called his daughter, "Dad told me he loved it. That he was shocked but very proud at the different kind of cinema I had made. He thought it was very well written and the stories were well-woven into the script. Dad had assumed the film would be full of sex and he was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't."

Ekta's mom Shobha will be seeing LSD this week, but her brother Tusshar was one of the first to watch it. "Tushki had told me then ki yeh commercial hit hogi. I am very happy with the box office numbers and the fact that the film has got cult status. It was also a Trending Topic on Twitter when it released."

They're lovin' it
On Sunday, Ekta had a screening for the film fraternity, which included directors like Shekhar Kapoor, "There were some corporates too and some of our competitors. As the end credits rolled, there was a standing ovation. My cousin Gattu (Rock On!! director Abhishek Kapoor) loved it too."

Amongst the three stories in LSD, the second one Paap Ki Dukaan based around MMS remains the soap queen's personal favourite. "For the first time, I felt violated while watching a scene and being scared as a woman. I felt so bad for the girl. When I watch the scene and see how the man exploits the girl who loves him, I wanted to puke. It's the power of the camera and beauty of the narrative to capture that moment."
