3 Idiots' Vidhu Vinod Chopra apologises to media

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has apologised for bursting out at the media during a press conference on his latest film 3 Idiots, which has grossed over Rs 100 crore in the first four days. The Bollywood producer lost his cool when asked about Chetan Bhagat's claim and asked a reporter to shut up.

During the press conference of 3 Idiots on Friday in Noida, a journalist asked whether 70 per cent of the film was taken from Chetan Bhagat's book. Chopra asked him back whether he had seen the movie and read the book. The jurno replied that he had seen 3 Idiots, but not read the book 'Five Point Someone'. Later, speaking at a hotel in Noida, Vidhu Vinod Chopra apologised for lashing out at the media. He said that he was provoked into adverse comments. What he did was silly and he was extremely ashamed of his outburst. He would never want to meet Chetan Bhagat again. He had already given him the money.

The producer and actors said it was nothing but cheap publicity. 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani, stars Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor were present on the press meet.

These fraudsters should be hung by the neck. Not giving credit to the author of an original story is crime. He would be craeting some ridiculous unwatchable stuff had it not been for Chetan Bhagat inspired story. Outright outrageous. Sue them Chetan...
